Some Creative Ways To Approach Blog Writing
When people think about writing for blogs, they tend to think about a more “journalistic” approach where there is a headline and paragraphs that follow — with a photo or two to add a little color.
Blog writing can be highly personal. In fact, most of the more popular blogs (even business-related) have a personal spin to them.
There’s also great opportunity to add some creative flair.
So, how can you get out of the cycle of writing paragraph after paragraph?
First, think about what is interesting to you. Let’s say that you have an interest in food while traveling. Maybe you took a trip to Italy or France and managed to get your hands on a few recipes that you thought were amazing. It’s perfectly acceptable (and fun) to share those recipes. That could be one immediate post. You may wish to consider adding a short open and close to it, but you’ll be creating something unique that people may use and share. In fact, there is an agent who publishes Jamaican recipes as part of her content. It’s different, unique and stands out.
Another great thing to consider are lists. Yes, lists have been done for a long time but they never go out of style. And they are easy to put together and publish. Some thought-starters include lists such as: Top 10 Wineries To Visit In Southern France, Top 5 Things to See In London, Top 12 Things To Do With Your Family On Maui. Think about some of your recent and past experiences and put them into lists. This is a great way to share your passion and expertise and you’re doing so in a familiar format that people enjoy.
One other way to get “creative” is literature. Maybe you saw a poem that inspired you about a destination. Perhaps there is a book that reminds you about an extended stay in Spain. What if you wrote a poem about a journey you took? This is a unique perspective that will definitely stand out from the usual crowd.
There are plenty of other creative ways to think about approaching your blog writing. We’re here to help you “shake the creative tree” and give you some ideas on how you can keep creating great content for you blog and clients.
